Gretchyn is an editorial consultant for pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb. Previously she worked as associate publisher at Elsevier and as associate publisher, editor-in-chief and director of special projects at Jobson Publishing.
She also worked in various editorial positions for other publishing companies, including Chilton and Boucher Communications Inc./Lippincott Williams and Wilkins. She has contributed to Review of Optometry, Journal of the American Optometric Association and other eye care publications.
She also was managing editor of Contact Lens Spectrum, a professional journal for eye care practitioners who fit contact lenses. She has written about many facets of optometric practice, including examination equipment, managed care, hospital privileges and children's vision.
Gretchyn formerly was an optometric technician who became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and was certified by the National Contact Lens Examiners.
