Jennifer L.W. Fink is an award-winning freelance journalist, author and former bedside nurse who specializes in health, parenting and education. She is known for her ability to build rapport with sources and translate complex medical and scientific information into clear, engaging stories that help readers make informed decisions. 

Before becoming a full-time writer, Jennifer worked as a bedside nurse, caring for patients and supporting families through some of life’s most challenging moments. That experience taught her to listen carefully, ask meaningful questions and communicate in a language people can understand. 

Today, Jennifer interviews health care professionals, researchers, patients, parents and educators to create evidence-based content that is both accurate and accessible. Her work has appeared in The New York TimesThe Washington PostParents, the American Journal of NursingENTtoday and numerous other consumer and professional publications. 

Jennifer is the author of Building Boys: Raising Great Guys in a World That Misunderstands Males and The First-Time Mom’s Guide to Raising Boys. She is a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists and the American Society of Journalists and Authors. She lives in Wisconsin and loves camping, hiking and scuba diving.
