Greek silversmith Sotirio Voulgaris (Sotirio Bulgari in Italian) founded his namesake company Bulgari in 1884. It didn’t take long for Bulgari to develop a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship and magnificent jewelry creations.

Bvlgari expanded its brand to Europe and the United States in the early 1970s. In 1997, Luxottica purchased the licensing to create eyewear under the Bvlgari brand.
