What sunglasses styles does Chris Evans wear?

Playing it cool and sophisticated in sunglasses comes naturally to American actor Chris Evans. He has been seen wearing such a variety of shades in different styles — on the red carpet, around town and even in movie scenes — that sunglasses certainly seem to be his favorite go-to accessory, both on and off the screen.

You probably know Chris Evans best as a comic book-inspired superhero, first as Human Torch in Fantastic Four (2005) and then as Captain America in the Captain America and Avengers movies by Marvel Studios. He has also been in television series, including Opposite Sex (2000) and Defending Jacob (2020), and the Broadway play Lobby Hero (2018). He also made his directorial debut in the rom-com Before We Go (2014).

Evans wears Ray-Ban Aviators in several Captain America films as rough and tough soldier, Steve Rogers, a multi-talented war veteran with the alter ego of Captain America. Evans also wears aviators in the rom-com Playing It Cool (2014) as a character who struggles with writer’s block.

Wayfarers

In rom-com What’s Your Number? (2011), Evans plays a rakish neighbor who sports Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses.

Wayfarers appeared on the scene in the 1950s, and they feature thick, black plastic frames that flare at the top outer edges. Sean Connery wore them in Thunderball (1965) and, more than 50 years later, Hugh Grant in The Gentlemen (2019). Nowadays, wayfarers come in an endless array of colors and shapes with added options, such as polarization.

One other notable mention, Evans’ character, a stuckup playboy in critically acclaimed murder mystery Knives Out (2019), accessorizes with Ray-Ban Round Metal Classic sunglasses.

Out and about, he’s seen in these styles of sunglasses hanging with buddies and lady friends, including Jessica Biel, Minka Kelly and Jenny Slate. Although he keeps it pretty hush-hush when it comes to his dating life, never confirming whether he has a wife or girlfriend.
