About Dr. Canto-Sims

In 2005, Dr. Diana Canto-Sims founded Buena Vista Optical, a private optometric practice and eyewear boutique in Chicago. She is also the founder of La Vida Eyewear, an independent frame collection created to embrace diversity and inclusion by offering frame styles that fit Dr. Canto-Sims’s patients, who are predominantly Hispanic, Latino, LatinX, Indigenous, and people of color.

Dr. Canto-Sims graduated from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry in 1998. In 2019, she graduated from the Latino Business Network scaling program at Stanford Graduate Business School, growing her practice revenue 27% in 2020 despite the Covid-19 shutdown.
