Robert L. Epstein, MD, Joins Editorial Board

San Diego, Calif., April 22, 2009 — All About Vision has appointed nationally recognized cataract and refractive surgeon Robert L. Epstein, MD, to its Editorial Advisory Board.

As one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform LASIK, Dr. Epstein brings a wealth of expertise to the task of ensuring that All About Vision educates consumers with accurate, comprehensive information.

Dr. Epstein is medical director and chief surgeon at Mercy Center for Corrective Eye Surgery in Chicago and has regularly performed LASIK, PRK, epi-LASIK, Crystalens implantation and other procedures. He helped develop multifocal LASIK and has been awarded several patents, including one for a device that increases the safety and accuracy of laser vision correction.

Dr. Epstein is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, of which he is former vice chief of medical staff and chairman of medical staff quality assessment.

Dr. Epstein completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He obtained his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School and his MBA at the University of Chicago.

Online since January 2000, All About Vision is a one-stop, independent resource providing consumers with hundreds of pages of trustworthy information on eye health and vision correction options. The site is expected to serve about nine million visitors this year and is published by Access Media Group, an online healthcare publisher with a specialty in vision and eye health.
