More About Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Laser Vision Center in Miami
The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Laser Vision Center in Miami
provides state-of-the-art technology with a highly attentive staff.
Each patient is meticulously examined prior to surgery to determine
the best option for vision correction. For LASIK surgery, the VISX
Star S4 excimer laser system is used. This wavefront guided system
provides individualized reshaping of the cornea for each patient.
To create the corneal flap, the ALL LASER LASIK procedure called
IntraLase is used. The combination of custom wavefront LASIK and
IntraLase provides for the highest precision and safety. In
addition to LASIK, Bascom Palmer surgeons offer PRK, LASEK,
Intacs, CK, and implantable lenses that can correct for near
and distance vision. Although the surgeons are on the cutting
edge of new technology, they are conservative in their approach
to laser vision correction. After a comprehensive evaluation by
the surgeon, up to one-third of the patients are advised not
to have surgery. This focus on patient care ensures the best
possible LASIK outcomes.
