In choosing your cataract replacement lens your eye doctor will take into account many aspects of your eye health.  You'll probably be asked some important lifestyle questions:

  • How much reading or computer work do you do?
  • What are your hobbies?
  • Do you often drive at night?

There are also some important questions you should ask your eye doctor:

  • Can you explain how the new multifocal lens is different from a traditional cataract lens?
  • If I enjoy reading am I a good candidate for a multifocal lens?
  • After cataract surgery with a multifocal lens, will I still need glasses?
  • Are there any risks with a multifocal lens?
  • Is the AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens right for me?

More Freedom in Payment Options

If you're interested in the AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens you'll be happy to learn that Medicare covers the cost of surgery and a portion of the AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens for qualifying patients. As with any lens you may be required to pay for additional services.

Some insurance companies are following the lead of Medicare and offering patients the choice to pay for the additional costs associated with the AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL. You should talk with someone at your doctor's office or your primary insurance provider about what is covered under your policy.

Your surgeon may also offer a variety of attractive payment plans to finance your surgery. Be sure to ask about these plans to determine if you qualify.
