First-Half Visitors Surge 39%
San Diego, Calif., July 10, 2012 Unique visitors to AllAboutVision.com increased 39% in the first half of 2012 compared with the same period last year, according to Google Analytics. The site served 8,580,396 million unique visitors during that time, measured weekly.
Search referrals from Google were up 54%, and Facebook referrals increased 127%.
AllAboutVision.com also experienced a 177% increase in mobile visits. A mobile version of the site launched in May of this year. In June, about 24% of total visits used the mobile version.
Of the site's top 50 most-viewed pages, some of the largest page view increases were for articles about cataract surgery recovery (up 473%), eye color (up 181%), eye infections (up 166%) and eyeglass prescriptions (up 164%); as well as the site's glossary (up 910%).
In addition to educating consumers on its own site, AllAboutVision.com provides informative and unbiased content to more than 4,000 eye care practice websites and more than 500 practice Facebook pages. The site also supplies educational email content to companies providing patient marketing services, and recently established an offline presence with the introduction of a patient-directed, reception-area magazine in partnership with First Vision Media Group.
