All About Vision Celebrates Ten Years Online With 9.5 Million Visitors in 2009
San Diego, Calif., January 6, 2010 All About Vision wrapped up its first ten years of educating consumers about eye health and vision correction by serving 9.5 million unique visitors in 2009, according to weekly Google Analytics data. The unique visitor count represents a 22% total growth rate over 2008, although organic (non-paid) traffic grew by 29%.
The record-traffic year was highlighted by serving 200,000 unique visitors in a single week, a mark that was achieved three times during the fourth quarter.
During the course of the year almost 22 million pages were viewed, and the average visitor spent two minutes and twenty seconds on the site.
Search engines accounted for 90% of all site visitors. Google was the single largest source of traffic, generating 69% of all visitors. In addition to search engines, visitors were referred to All About Vision from more than 23,000 websites. WebMD, RightHealth, Wikipedia and Facebook were among the top referring sites.
Conditions & Diseases, Contact Lenses, LASIK & Vision Surgery, and Eyeglasses were the most-visited content sections. The site's guide to eye exams was one of the fastest-growing sections, with a 26% increase in page views.
All About Vision is a one-stop, independent resource providing consumers with hundreds of pages of trustworthy, up-to-date information on vision correction and eye health.
