Visitors Up 20% in First Half of 2009
San Diego, Calif., July 22, 2009 Unique visitors to All About Vision increased 20% during the first half of 2009 compared with the same period last year, as measured weekly by Google Analytics.
The top 25 entry pages were the site's home page, Find an Eye Doctor, Symptoms A to Z, section home pages for Conditions & Diseases, LASIK & Vision Surgery, Contact Lenses and Eyeglasses; and articles about these topics:
- Spots and floaters
- Colored contact lenses
- Conjunctivitis
- LASIK cost
- Choosing eyeglass frames
- Cataracts
- Dry eyes
- Ocular migraines
- Astigmatism
- Allergies
- Macular degeneration
- Blepharitis
- Ocular herpes
- Polarized lenses
- Cataract surgery
- Eye twitching
- Styes
- Toric contact lenses
Of those pages, the article on cataract surgery showed the highest growth. The page's use as a gateway to the site was up 539%, and it increased 86% in overall page views.
"Our visitor traffic dynamics are very similar to last year, but in greater numbers," said Tom Meinert, president of Access Media Group, publisher of the site. "For example, 68% of our visitors came from Google, and 84% of visitors are in North America, both the same as last year."
Launched in 2000, All About Vision is a one-stop, independent resource providing consumers with hundreds of pages of trustworthy, up-to-date information on vision correction and eye health. The site is expected to serve about nine million visitors this year.
