All About Vision Begins 10th Year of Educating Consumers About Eye Care, Eyewear
San Diego, Calif., January 26, 2009 This month marks the beginning of All About Vision's tenth year of providing comprehensive, doctor-reviewed information to consumers about eye health and vision correction options. The website launched on January 2, 2000.
The years since the website's inception have produced expanded editorial coverage, growth of visitor traffic, and recognition of the site's quality content by prominent consumer media.
All About Vision has been cited by magazines such as Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger's, Maclean's, U.S. News & World Report, Golf Digest and Yahoo! Internet Life; as well as by NPR, MarketWatch and the BBC.
Each of All About Vision's original content sections has expanded to accommodate new topics such as custom LASIK, 30-day contact lens wear and multifocal intraocular lenses. The site's Eye Problems & Diseases section has grown from 25 single-page topics to more than 40 topics, several of which are covered by 8-10 pages of articles, news and FAQ.
In addition, several all-new content sections were introduced: Eye Exams, Nutrition & Eyes, Vision Insurance and Vision Over 60. A LASIK surgeon directory was added in 2004, and an eye care practitioner directory in 2005.
Visitor traffic has grown ten-fold, from 800,000 in 2000 to eight million in 2009, driven by links from thousands of web pages and by prominent search engine rankings for hundreds of vision-related terms.
All About Vision is published by Access Media Group, an online publisher specializing in vision and eye health.
