Unique Visitors Top 8.2 Million in 2007
La Jolla, Calif., January 11, 2008 All About Vision experienced another record year for visitor traffic in 2007, serving more than 8.2 million unique visitors, measured weekly by WebTrends reports. The site has served more than 35 million unique visitors since its launch in January 2000.
Search engines now account for 87% of site visits. All About Vision benefits from high rankings for dozens of vision-related queries on all major search engines. About 8% of visitors come from other referring sites, and 4% of visitors come directly to the site, according to Google Analytics.
Every month, more than 4,000 different websites refer visitors to All About Vision. The site is linked from local eye care practices, news and health sites, governments, corporations, national and international media, professional associations, personal blogs, web directories, social networking sites and more. WebMD and Wikipedia are among the top non-search sites sending visitors to All About Vision.
In December 2007, the site served visitors from 195 countries, although 82% of the traffic is from the United States and Canada.
Eye Problems & Diseases, LASIK & Vision Surgery, Contact Lenses and Eyeglasses were the most-visited content areas in 2007. Some of the most popular articles were those on spots and floaters, color contact lenses, conjunctivitis, cataracts, choosing eyeglasses, LASIK cost, macular degeneration, astigmatism and dry eyes.
Online since January 2000, All About Vision is a one-stop, independent resource providing consumers with more than 450 pages of trustworthy information on eye health and vision correction options. The site is published by Access Media Group LLC, an online healthcare publisher with a specialty in vision and eye health.
