Mark Mattison-Shupnick Joins Editorial Board
La Jolla, Calif., May 29, 2007 All About Vision® has appointed Mark Mattison-Shupnick, ABOM, BS to its Editorial Advisory Board. An accomplished lecturer, educator, researcher and highly respected optician, Mattison-Shupnick will help oversee and review content for consumers interested in topics such as eyeglass lenses.
A 35-year veteran of the optical industry, Mattison-Shupnick directs the continuing education program for 20/20 magazine and Vision Monday and lectures nationally and internationally on various ophthalmic topics. As a consultant, he works in retail, conducts primary research, participates in product development, and assists companies with technical marketing. Prior to his consulting career, he developed and taught Ophthalmic Dispensing in the New York and California Community College systems and worked in a variety of management roles for SOLA International over a 20-year period.
Mattison-Shupnick is a Master Optician as certified by the American Board of Opticianry. He has been appointed to the Opticianry Hall of Fame and is the recipient of the Beverly Myers Award for Education from the National Academy of Opticianry. He is also board chair of PRVAIL, a foundation that supplies reading glasses to missions in the United States and third-world countries.
