Unique Visitors Top 7.7 Million in 2006
La Jolla, Calif., January 15, 2007 All About Vision® experienced another record year for visitor traffic in 2006, serving more than 7.7 million unique visitors, up 20 percent from the previous year, as measured weekly by WebTrends reports. The site has served more than 27 million unique visitors since its launch in January 2000.
The Contact Lenses section was the most-visited content area of All About Vision, with page views up 33 percent over 2005. Other popular sections included Conditions and Diseases and LASIK and Vision Surgery, up 19 percent and 11 percent respectively in the same time period.
Content expansion, including 35 new articles, contributed to the site's growth. Within the Conditions and Diseases section, an expanded Macular Degeneration content area experienced a 25 percent growth in page views. Vision Insurance, a new section launched in October 2006, averaged more than 9,000 page views per month.
Search engines are the predominant source of visitor traffic to All About Vision, and the site also receives traffic from the websites of global news media, web directories, academic institutions, corporations, the U.S. government, eye care practices and professional organizations.
Online since January 2000, All About Vision is a one-stop, independent resource providing consumers with more than 450 pages of trustworthy information on eye health and vision correction options. The site is published by Access Media Group LLC, an online healthcare publisher with a specialty in vision and eye health.
