All About Vision® Celebrates 250,000 Online LASIK Evaluations
NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., July 6, 2005 More than 250,000 consumers
interested in LASIK have taken advantage of All About Vision's online LASIK
evaluation since the feature was launched in August 2002.
The 250,000 milestone for the "Am I a Candidate for LASIK?" feature was
reached last week. The online screening has averaged about 2,300 users
per week this year, and more than 100,000 evaluations are expected to be
conducted in 2005.
The All About Vision LASIK evaluation asks participants a series of
questions and instantly generates a personalized report. The report
educates prospective patients about factors that might disqualify them
as a LASIK candidate, or factors about which more information is needed
to determine candidacy. Of course, the online LASIK evaluation is
limited to criteria that can be addressed over the Web, and visitors
are encouraged to see their eye care practitioner for a thorough evaluation.
"Am I a Candidate for LASIK?" is one feature of All About Vision's
LASIK & Vision Surgery section, which
includes 24 articles and interactive features about LASIK and other refractive
eye surgeries. The section includes "Ask the LASIK Surgeon," which enables
consumers to pose questions to a panel of prominent surgeons and receive a
personal e-mail response within 72 hours.
All About Vision is a one-stop, independent resource providing
consumers with more than 450 pages of information on eye health and
vision correction options. The site is expected to serve more than
six million unique visitors in 2005.
