More About Vision Correction at Yaldo Eye Center
At Yaldo Eye Center, Dr. Yaldo utilizes innovative vision correction technology for personally tailored treatment. The leading-edge facility is furnished with wavefront technology and the Ziemer and IntraLase lasers to produce customized vision correction results.
Prior to beginning LASIK, the Yaldo Eye Center surgeon uses wavefront diagnostic technology to generate a unique "fingerprint" of the eye's distinct refractive errors, including extremely subtle vision problems called "higher-order aberrations." The San Diego LASIK surgeon utilizes this diagnostic information to fine-tune the excimer laser that reshapes the curvature of the cornea.
The Yaldo Eye Center laser eye surgeon begins LASIK surgery by using either a microkeratome (a surgical instrument) or a femtosecond laser to make a miniscule flap in the cornea. Dr. Yaldo carefully lifts back the flap before utilizing the adjusted excimer laser to re-contour the corneal tissue, correcting the refractive error causing nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism in the process. Once Dr. Yaldo is happy with the new shape of the cornea, he replaces the corneal flap in its initial position, where it naturally re-seals itself to the eye without a need for sutures.
The San Diego LASIK surgery patients at Yaldo Eye Center report that the procedure is painless. They usually notice improved sight within 24 to 48 hours following LASIK surgery. Commonly, LASIK patients no longer need to depend on contact lenses or prescription glasses to see clearly. Furthermore, over 99 percent of LASIK patients achieve 20/20 vision or better.
