More About Vision Correction at Yaldo Eye Center
At Yaldo Eye Center, the Detroit suburbs LASIK surgeon utilizes the most advanced vision correction technology for customized treatment. The state-of-the-art eye center is equipped with wavefront technology and the IntraLase and Ziemer lasers to deliver personally tailored vision correction results.
Before starting LASIK, the Yaldo Eye Center surgeon utilizes wavefront imaging technology to create a distinct map of the eye's unique refractive errors, including nearly imperceptible vision errors referred to as "higher-order aberrations." The laser eye surgeon uses this diagnostic data to calibrate the excimer laser that re-contours the curvature of the cornea.
The Yaldo Eye Center ophthalmologist starts the LASIK procedure by employing either a microkeratome (a surgical blade) or a femtosecond laser to create a small flap in the cornea. The laser eye surgeon gently folds back the flap before employing the calibrated excimer laser to reshape the corneal tissue, thus correcting the refractive error causing the vision problem. As soon as Dr. Yaldo is satisfied with the newly contoured cornea, he or she repositions the corneal flap in its original location, where it naturally re-bonds to the eye without a need for stitches.
The Detroit suburbs LASIK surgery patients at Yaldo Eye Center find that the procedure is painless, and that it typically provides improved vision within 24 to 48 hours after surgery. In most cases, they no longer need to depend on prescription eyewear to see clearly. In addition, more than 99 percent of LASIK patients achieve 20/20 vision — or better.
