More about Vision Correction at Whitten Laser Eye
Dr. Whitten's customized treatments for patients include the use of the latest in LASIK technology. He will choose the best technology for your specific procedure and uses the latest wavefront lasers, including the VISX CustomVue Excimer Laser, Wavelight Allegretto EX500 Excimer Laser and the Wavelight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q 400Hz Excimer Laser. These precise, programmable lasers ensure a safe procedure with proven results. Most patients experience little or no pain.
During the initial LASIK consultation, Dr. Whitten uses the latest wavefront technology to create a map of the eye that shows the patient's unique vision imperfections, which will then be used to program the laser for surgery.
For the LASIK procedure, Dr. Whitten creates a small flap in the cornea of the eye. He then gently lifts the flap and uses an excimer laser to direct light to the inner layers of the cornea, reshaping the cornea to a shape that more accurately focuses light on the retina, resulting in clearer vision. Once this is done, Dr. Whitten replaces the flap, which will immediately begin to heal naturally.
Patients that have entrusted their vision to Dr. Whitten have time and again reported being amazed at the immediate results of their LASIK surgery. Most of them report an immediate improvement in their vision, saying that they are able to see the very next day without the use of their glasses or contacts.
