Bill Cowher, Studio Analyst & Former Steelers Head Coach
"I was tired of having several pairs of sunglasses at home and on the football field. This was a huge nuisance to me," Cowher says. "I kept hearing success stories of some of my players who went to Dr. Whitten, they were thrilled by their results. So, I scheduled my LASIK procedure. I was amazed that one day after my surgery I was 20/15 in both eyes."

More about Vision Correction at Whitten Laser Eye
Dr. Whitten uses the latest, most advanced and proven LASIK technology to provide customized treatments for his patients. He uses the VISX CustomVue Excimer Laser, Wavelight Allegretto EX500 Excimer Laser and Wavelight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q 400Hz Excimer Laser at his practice in order to provide a precise and safe LASIK procedure. Dr. Whitten will choose the best technology for your customized procedure.
In preparation for LASIK surgery, patients of Whitten Laser Eye receive a thorough, one-on-one consultation with Dr. Whitten. During this consultation Dr. Whitten uses wavefront technology to create a map of each patient's eye that shows visual imperfections. This map is used to program the laser for surgery.
During LASIK surgery, Dr. Whitten creates a small flap in the cornea. He then lifts the flap back gently and uses an excimer laser to direct cool pulses of light to the inner layers of the cornea, a process which will reshape the cornea in order to restore clear vision. Afterwards, Dr. Whitten will return the corneal flap to its original position, where it will begin to heal naturally.
The LASIK procedure takes less than 30 minutes to perform, and most patients experience little or no pain. In most cases patients notice an immediate improvement in vision. They are often able to see the next day without the aid of glasses or contacts.
