Dr. Rubinfeld on Laser Eye Surgery and Vision Care, Quoted in USA Today

USA Today quotes Dr. Rubinfeld
"If you promote it as if it's a haircut, then you're not being genuine. That's one of the reasons there are more lawsuits, simply because people's expectations are that it's low-risk," says Dr. Roy Rubinfeld of Chevy Chase, Md., who's had the procedure himself and performed it on his wife. "This is surgery. As with all surgeries, the results are dependent on the skills, experience, judgment and ethics of the surgeon."

More About Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons
Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons offer state-of-the-art technology for LASIK and other types of vision correction surgery. For LASIK surgery, they use the ALLEGRETTO WAVE™ from Wavelight. The ALLEGRETTO WAVE™ represents a breakthrough in customized LASIK technology. This laser is the first to be "wavefront optimized" so that night vision is frequently improved for many patients compared with the way they saw with glasses or contacts. The laser beam profile and eye-tracking system are specifically designed for maintaining the corneal curvature for each individual patient, thereby reducing common night vision problems of glare and halos, even for those who have large pupils.
Washington Eye surgeons are also innovators in performing no-stitch, no-injection, small-incision surgery with the crystalens and ReSTOR lens. These lenses can simultaneously correct for near and distance vision. The practice also provides comprehensive eye care services including treatment for glaucoma, cataracts, other eye diseases, and cosmetic and reconstructive eye surgery.
