About UC Davis Laser Vision Correction Service
Every patient at the UC Davis LASIK center is meticulously evaluated and treated by physicians to ensure the best
LASIK outcomes. For LASIK surgery, the Alcon LADARVision and NIDEK EC-5000 excimer laser systems are used.
For custom LASIK, the Alcon CustomCornea wavefront system is used. Wavefront technology allows for each patient
to be individually evaluated and then treated with a customized laser profile, ensuring maximum precision. The UC Davis Laser Vision Correction Service
also offers other forms of vision correction, including PRK, AK and LASEK. The new ReSTOR lens, which simultaneously
corrects for near, intermediate, and distance vision, will be available soon.
Although the surgeons of the UC Davis Laser Vision Correction Service are on the cutting edge of new technology
in eye care, they are conservative in their approach to laser vision correction. A comprehensive screening process is used
for all patients, and many are advised not to undergo surgery. This focus on patient care ensures the optimum results for each patient.
