More About Vision Correction with Dr. Tunis
Dr. Tunis performs LASIK surgery using some of the most sophisticated technologies available. He begins the procedure by carefully charting all of the patient's corneal flaws using an advanced wavefront-guided mapping device. He then uses this corneal map to calibrate the excimer laser. After creating a small flap in the cornea, Dr. Tunis corrects the shape of the cornea with the excimer laser to help patients achieve clearer vision. Once complete, the flap is returned to its original position, where it protects the eye and serves as a natural bandage during the healing process.
In addition to LASIK surgery, Dr. Tunis has expertise in corneal transplantation, general eye surgery and cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants. He holds two U.S. patents for advanced intraocular lens implant technologies, and has more than 26 years of experience treating cataract patients. He is also the Medical Director of Eye-mergency Inc. centers for urgent eye care.
