More About Vision Correction at Com Eye Group

Dr. Trejo specializes in "wavefront" laser technology for LASIK eye surgery. Wavefront allows Dr. Trejo to obtain a map of each patient's unique refractive errors, including higher order aberrations — tiny imperfections in the shape of the cornea. Using wavefront technology coupled with the VISX S4 excimer laser, Dr. Trejo is able to provide each patient with a customized treatment and optimal vision correction results.

Dr. Trejo begins the LASK procedure by administering anesthetic eye drops for maximum patient comfort. He then creates the corneal flap, a thin piece of tissue that is lifted from the surface of the eye to expose the underlying cornea for laser reshaping. Next, Dr. Trejo carefully reshapes the corneal tissue with the leading-edge VISX S4 excimer laser, thereby eliminating most vision flaws. Following this step, which takes a few minutes for each eye, Dr. Trejo replaces the flap, which naturally seals to the surface of the cornea and protects the eye during recovery. Most patients who undergo LASIK eye surgery are able to enjoy improved vision within a few days and gradually reduce their dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
