Wendell P. Wong, MD, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 1977. He completed his internship at LA County General, USC Estelle Doheny Eye Foundation and specialized in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. His began his professional career at Kaiser Permanente where he helped start the intraocular lens implant program. He has also been the chief of laser surgery at Natural Sight Laser Vision Center.
Dr. Wong is internationally renowned for his skill and dedication to the field of laser vision correction. He has performed more than 35,000 refractive surgeries, including more than 20,000 LASIK procedures. He has attended to the vision needs of more than 500 doctors and routinely has patients visit him from around the world to help reduce or eliminate their dependency on glasses or contact lenses. In fact, Dr. Wong has had his own vision corrected with the same excimer laser he uses on his patients.
Dr. Wong has received the Star Surgeon Award three times, which is in recognition of being one of the most experienced laser eye surgeons in the United States. He has been featured in major publications, including Mademoiselle, Glamour, Readers Digest and Popular Science. Dr. Wong is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners, and is a member of many professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
Michael B. Brenner, MD, FICS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has performed more than 15,000 LASIK and other vision correction procedures. Dr. Brenner graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine, and after completing internal medicine and ophthalmology residencies, he was accepted as an Abe Meyer visiting assistant professor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles. While there, he completed an intensive fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery.
Dr. Brenner has engaged in many research and clinical activities to advance the field of vision corrective surgery. He is the Clinical Adjunct Professor at the Southern California College of Optometry and is currently involved with hands-on student training in the field of refractive surgery management. He also maintains a referral-based practice specializing in anterior segment surgery in Long Beach.
Dr. Brenner is a Fellow of both the International College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology; and is an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He maintains his position at the forefront of new refractive surgical procedures, and currently serves as an FDA clinical investigator for new intraocular lens designs.
