More About the Physicians at TLC Laser Eye Centers
Eugene Gabianelli, MD, is a highly experienced, board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in LASIK surgery and corneal transplantation. For more than 10 years, Dr. Gabianelli has helped patients achieve clearer vision and reduce their dependency on corrective lenses.
Dr. Gabianelli earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Dartmouth College and earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. He participated in a select internship program through Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago and was named Chief Resident during his ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago. He performed specialty fellowship training in cornea, refractive, and cataract surgery with a private group in Hartford, Connecticut, where he was one of the few to participate the first laser vision surgery trials in the United States.
Dr. Gabianelli is affiliated with a number of prominent hospitals, including Saint Joseph's Hospital, Northside Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, Crawford Long Hospital, Atlanta Outpatient Surgery Center, and South Fulton Medical Center.
Dr. Gabianelli served as Medical Director for the Atlanta Medical Eye Center before founding Georgia Eye Partners. He currently serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Emory University and Medical Director of TLC Atlanta. Dr. Gabianelli also serves as Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology at Saint Joseph's Hospital and is a member of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology's Leadership Council.
E. Edward Carman (Sandy), OD, received his undergraduate degree from Southern Adventist University and is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Carman is not only a doctor at TLC; he is also a patient, having undergone the LASIK procedure in 1999. He specializes in laser vision correction, contact lenses and ocular diseases. He has extensive training in LASIK surgery and is also trained on the new CUSTOM wavefront technology. Dr. Carman is an active member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
