Karl G. Stonecipher, MD, is a highly experienced, board-certified ophthalmologist who has performed more than 50,000 LASIK procedures. Dr. Stonecipher received his undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry from Southern Methodist University before earning his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at Tulane University and completed an intensive, specialty refractive surgery fellowship at the McGee Eye Institute.
He has published more than 100 book chapters, abstracts, and articles and regularly lectures nationally and internationally on the subjects of refractive and corneal surgery. He is currently involved in FDA trials for the Study of Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery in addition to serving as Medical Director for TLC Laser Eye Centers in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dr. Stonecipher is a distinguished member of a number of professional medical societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Society for Refractive Surgeons, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
K. Neil McMackin, OD, serves as the Clinical Director at TLC Laser Eye Centers in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is responsible for overseeing the clinical operation of the center and consulting patients on refractive surgery. He works closely with optometric physicians who provide pre-operative and post-operative care following laser eye surgery.
Dr. McMackin is a member of the Optometric Association and a member of the North Carolina Optometric Society. He has lectured and published on a variety of topics, focusing primarily on refractive surgery issues.
