Carmen Foster, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has performed and assisted in thousands of refractive and intraocular procedures. She is proud to be part of an elite group of laser surgeons who have been handpicked by TLC for their clinical excellence and commitment to outstanding patient care.
Dr. Foster received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas. She completed her internal medicine internship at the University of Kansas and, following family tradition, pursued her residency training at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. After encouragement by a mentor and well-respected fellow refractive surgeon, Dr. Foster traveled abroad to learn about the most advanced refractive technology from two world-renowned refractive surgeons - Roberto Zaldivar, MD, of South America and Arturo Chayet, MD, of Mexico. Her experience with these two refractive surgeons gave her unique training and insight into various facets of both refractive surgery and cataract surgery.
Dr. Foster is affiliated with several prestigious organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
