As part of the world-renowned Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina, Magill Laser Center was the first laser vision correction center in South Carolina and was the site of the first LASIK and PRK procedures in the state. This tradition of excellence lives on as the Magill surgeons focus on providing the safest, highest quality patient care and optimal visual outcomes.
More About Magill Laser Center
The Magill Laser Center is the only facility in South Carolina with four different FDA approved lasers. This wide range of surgical options ensures the highest level of safety, predictability, and quality of vision after surgery. For custom LASIK surgery, the surgeons use the most advanced wavefront-guided technology. Wavefront technology provides a highly accurate measure of the corneal curvature and then corrects each eye with a customized laser ablation profile.
Dr. Solomon is a highly skilled surgeon, trained on the latest advances in IOL (intraocular lens) surgery as well for patients where LASIK may not be the best treatment option. The Crystalens and ReSTOR lens (which can simultaneously correct for near and distance vision) are offered as well as the Verisyse lens (which can correct those highly myopic patients who do not qualify for LASIK). He performs no-stitch, no-injection, small-incision cataract implant surgery. Several factors determine which procedure is right for each patient and Magill prides itself on being able to offer the best option for each individual surgical case.
