The surgical team of UltraVision begins LASIK surgery with an advanced eye mapping device that charts the corneal shape and surface. This unique map of the eye is used to calibrate the excimer laser. Using a sophisticated laser platform, the surgeons then create a small flap in the eye. Next, they gently lift the flap and use the excimer laser to correct any refractive flaws in the cornea. Last, the flap is returned to its original position, where it acts as a natural bandage for the eye.

More About Tomy Starck, MD
Tomy Starck, MD, completed undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Valle in Colombia, South America. Dr. Starck continued his training with a scholarship at the Barraquer Clinic in Bogota, where he completed an ophthalmology residency under Dr. Jose Barraquer. Dr. Starck went on to perform a cornea fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary – Harvard Medical School and an additional ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, where he served as Director of Refractive Surgery. Dr. Starck has written several published journal articles and is frequently invited to speak at international ophthalmology conferences.
