About Caster Eye Center

All laser treatments at Caster Eye Center are performed personally by Dr. Caster. Each patient is meticulously screened by Dr. Caster to determine the best option for his or her particular situation. For LASIK surgery, Caster Eye Center offers the Wavelight Allegretto and VISX lasers. Dr. Caster uses only the custom wavefront LASIK techniques, where the light-focusing power of each eye is measured in 200 separate locations. This unique "corneal map" is then programmed into the laser so that a new corneal curvature can be created with the highest precision.

To ensure accuracy, the laser room at the Caster Eye Center is both temperature-and humidity-controlled. To create the "corneal flap," Dr. Caster offers the IntraLase technique and the microkeratome. This combination of technology and meticulous control of the surgical environment provides for the best possible LASIK outcomes.

Although the Caster Eye Center is on the cutting edge of new technology in laser vision correction, it is very personable and conservative in its approach. A comprehensive screening process is used for all patients, and approximately one-third of the patients are advised not to undergo surgery at all. Each patient is treated only if Dr. Caster believes the patient will obtain excellent results.

What Dr. Caster's Patients Are Saying

"Playing without contact lenses for the first time in 16 years is such a relief. From tee to green my perception is clearer and I can read the greens better than ever before. I decided to have LASIK after hearing from other professional golfers. I did my homework and found Dr. Caster to be the very best LASIK surgeon." —Amy Alcott, Professional Golfer, US Open Champion

"I need a rebate on my NBA career. Nine years of contacts, inconsistent vision, and frustration all gone in three hours of pre-op and 20 minutes of surgery. I'm sure everyone is different but once I realized the fog in the goggles one hour after the surgery was not my actual vision, I lifted my goggles off to a newfound world, the one I remember back in college. I recovered clear vision faster than I could have imagined....I can't wait to hit the gym and enjoy the improvements in my game." —Rick Fox, Prefessional Athlete, Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics

"A year and half ago, Dr. Andrew Caster performed LASIK surgery on me, and I haven't had to break out my playing glasses since. But every couple of days, I still have people come to me and say, 'Hey didn't you use to wear glasses?" —Kurt Rambis, Los Angeles Lakers player and coach

"My main reason to get the LASIK procedure was to be able to look in the mirror and see vibrant eyes. For years I was saddened by the fact that, when I woke up and looked in the mirror, my image was not clear and the eyes looked dull and lifeless. The day after surgery I saw in the mirror a person I haven't seen for a long time, with nice, blue eyes with a sparkle. Wearing glasses never bothered me too much, but not having to wear glasses is worth celebrating. Dr. Caster and staff receive A+ + + for the nice, calm atmosphere." —Eric Erickson, Advertising Executive

"What an overwhelming birthday present to receive from my husband! After seeing him go through the procedure I admit I was still hesitant, but when he handed me the opportunity how could I say no? It was effortless, painless, miraculous and even fun! Thanks to the staff and the doctor I will no longer be a slave to my contacts and glasses. Nothing I could write here comes close to the euphoria I'm feeling, but the word "miracle" comes very close. I'm sure every day will bring a new sense of elation as I encounter more and more advantages of this newfound freedom. Hallelujah!" —Lisa Goodwin, Vocalist, Lyricist, Mom

"I never figured that putting in my contact lenses would be a bigger pain and more uncomfortable than the entire LASIK surgery! How easy is it? The most interesting part so far has been looking around like this was the first time I could see with glasses. After LASIK, I have better vision than that I was able to get with glasses or contact lenses. The staff at Caster Eye Center was professional and comforting from the first call to schedule my initial consultation throughout the entire process. I highly recommend LASIK for anyone who wants to wake up in the morning and see!" —Eric Seedman, Executive
