More About Dr. Sondheimer's Practice
Dr. Sondheimer's commitment to providing modern-day eye care services in a safe, technologically advanced setting served as the building blocks for the establishment of his three north suburban Chicago-based offices. His patients in Skokie, Deerfield, Park Ridge and the surrounding area receive the diagnosis, opinion and surgical skill of a highly experienced ophthalmologist.
Dr. Sondheimer is certified to perform LASIK surgery with the Nidek, Summit, VISX S4 Custom and Intralase lasers. To complement the precision of these advanced laser systems, he uses Wavefront technology, an advanced mapping system that helps refractive surgeons customize the LASIK procedure to each patient. In addition, Dr. Sondheimer is able to accommodate the vision correction needs of patients who are not candidates for LASIK by offering photorefractive keratectomy (PRK).
While the primary focus of Dr. Sondheimer's practice is refractive surgery, he has also restored the clear vision of several thousand cataract patients. He utilizes the latest surgical techniques and intraocular lens (IOLs) technology, including the ReStor, Rezoom and Crystalens IOLs that provide simultaneous correction of near (reading) and distance (driving) vision.
