Offering all the best options, Dr. Slade is the physician educator and FDA presenter for the ICL, or implantable contact lens for myopia or nearsightedness. More About Slade & Baker Vision Center

Stephen G. Slade, MD, FACS and Richard N. Baker, OD have practiced together since 1983. They founded the Laser Center of Houston in 1995 as a referral clinic for patient care, physician education and as an investigational site for the advancement of refractive surgery.

Dr. Stephen Slade is the chief surgeon of the Slade & Baker Vision Center's Laser Center of Houston. The staff members, many of whom have had LASIK surgery, are all hand-selected and personally trained by Drs Slade and Baker.

For LASIK surgery, Dr. Slade uses the best and latest "flying spot" technology. This wavefront guided custom LASIK system provides a unique map of the patient's corneal curvature. The excimer laser then creates a customized ablation profile that reshapes the cornea in an individual way for each patient. To create the "corneal flap," Dr. Slade often uses the "all laser LASIK" procedure called IntraLASIK. Dr. Slade has extensive experience with this bladeless procedure, and has the longest experience in the United States with IntraLASIK for myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia or farsightedness.

In addition to LASIK, Dr. Slade offers other refractive procedures including the latest lenses for age-related loss of near vision. Dr. Slade and Dr. Baker are committed to having the best option for each and every individual patient. Their goal is to provide the finest care for the gift of sight.
