Jay Bansal, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is dedicated to the research, teaching and practice of advanced vision correction techniques. He is the Medical Director of the LaserVue Eye Center and has been selected as one of "America's Top Ophthalmologists" by the Consumer Research Council. Among the first surgeons in California to perform LASIK, he is recognized as a VISX Star Surgeon (awarded to the top 100 LASIK specialists by VISX). He is regarded as a leading surgeon internationally as well as in the San Francisco LASIK community.
Dr. Bansal is considered an expert among his peers and is in high demand to speak at the top refractive surgery meetings throughout the United States and internationally. He has performed more than 15,000 successful LASIK procedures and is certified as a trainer for other surgeons.

LaserVue Eye Center has four offices serving the Bay Area in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Santa Rosa and Walnut Creek. Each location is equipped with the new Custom Wavefront technology in laser vision correction. This includes wavefront LASIK, where the subtle irregularities in the eye can be measured and corrected, ensuring a higher precision for every patient.
IntraLASIK is also offered, which is an all-laser refractive surgery procedure that is the safest, least invasive procedure for creating the corneal flap. In addition to LASIK surgery, PRK, LASEK, Epi-LASIK and CK are performed at LaserVue.
More About Jay Bansal, MD
Dr. Bansal received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska, School of Medicine. He completed his internship at the Los Angeles County Hospital and his residency, as the chief resident, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His fellowship training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery was performed at the Hermann Eye Center, University of Texas Medical Center. Dr. Bansal has served as an investigator for the FDA clinical trials, where the newest in LASIK technology is developed.
