Dr. Jeffrey S. Rohr
LASIK, PRK and LASEK in Flint and the neighboring area
Dr. Jeffrey S. Rohr is a talented, successful ophthalmologist who specializes in laser vision correction surgery. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and is one of the few refractive surgeons in Michigan to have undergone advanced fellowship training in LASIK as well as cataract surgery. Dr. Rohr is well-known for his LASIK expertise. He is frequently invited to give lectures focusing on the latest innovations in laser vision correction surgery at prestigious ophthalmology meetings.
Dr. Rohr utilizes the most advanced LASIK techniques and technologies to provide his Flint LASIK patients with clear vision. LASIK can be used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism, and most patients are able to eliminate or reduce their dependence on contact lenses and glasses following surgery. Dr. Rohr tailors each surgery to the individual needs of the patient. This approach consistently results in exceptional vision correction outcomes.

Rohr Eye and Laser Center

Dr. Rohr's facilities are equipped with the latest in laser vision technology.
The Rohr Eye and Laser Center is equipped with the most advanced laser vision technology available.
Dr. Rohr is committed to giving his patients the best vision correction outcomes using the most comfortable, safest methods. When performing laser vision correction he uses the Technolas 217z Zyoptix excimer laser with wavefront and flying spot scanning technologies. He initiates each treatment by creating a 3-D map of each eye. This wavefront technology-generated map, showing tiny imperfections that traditional LASIK scans are unable to detect, is used to program the excimer laser for customized treatment.
The first step of the LASIK surgery itself is to create a corneal flap using the Ziemer FEMTO LDV laser. This bladeless approach enhances the safety of the LASIK procedure by eliminating the risks associated with a microkeratome blade (the instrument used in traditional LASIK procedures).
Dr. Rohr also offers the PRK and LASEK procedures. He recommends these procedures for certain patients who are not good candidates for LASIK surgery due to large pupils and/or thin corneas. Dr. Rohr was one of the first surgeons in Michigan to perform NearVision conductive keratoplasty (CK) surgery. This sophisticated procedure can improve near vision in patients over 40 years of age. He also offers astigmatic keratotomy (AK), another technique that involves reshaping the cornea. For patients requiring cataract surgery, he offers no-stitch, no-needle cataract surgery, a state-of-the-art technique during which the eye's clouded lens is replaced with an intraocular lens to correct for near and distance vision.
