Dr. Allan Robbins

Allan Robbins, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specific fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery. He has been a pioneer in laser vision correction for the last two decades. Dr. Robbins served as an investigator in the early clinical trials where new laser eye surgery technology was developed and refined.

He was the first surgeon to introduce laser eye surgery in the Rochester area and the first to offer custom wavefront guided LASIK to his patients. He speaks nationally and internationally about advances in LASIK and trains other surgeons about vision correction surgery.

Dr. Robbins' goal is to use his extensive experience and highly advanced technology to provide the optimum LASIK outcomes for his patients.

Dr. Allan Robbins is the medical director and chief surgeon of Robbins Laser Site. For LASIK surgery, he uses the LADARVision 4000 from Alcon. This wavefront guided system uses technology originally developed by NASA to correct all optical aspects of the eye. A precise map of the cornea is measured and then a customized ablation profile corrects each eye. In addition to LASIK, Dr. Robbins also offers Epi-LASIK and PRK laser eye surgery.

Allan Robbins, MD, FACS, received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and performed his ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College. He completed his specialty fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Rochester, where he continues as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons.
