LASIK Eye Surgery at Rand Eye Institute

Dr. Rand has performed thousands of refractive and microsurgical procedures. Using a sterile procedure, he performs LASIK surgery in a licensed and accredited surgical facility in the presence of a licensed anesthesiologist. Patients are meticulously examined using sophisticated ophthalmic tests to provide a comprehensive and thorough assessment of their needs to ensure comfort, safety and the best vision possible.

Rand Eye Institute is one of the most advanced eye surgery centers in the world.

With the introduction of the VISX STAR S4 Wavescan System, this West Palm Beach LASIK facility is pleased to offer greater flexibility in developing a more personalized approach to laser vision correction (LASIK). With the potential to provide better vision than can be achieved through glasses or contact lenses, the VISX STAR S4 CustomVue Laser and WaveScan technology can detect imperfections in the eye 25 times more precisely than previous methods.

Setting a new standard in laser vision correction, VISX STAR S4's WaveScan provides a personal and unique "fingerprint" of the eye. By mapping the way the entire optical system processes light, Dr. Rand is now able to provide services to patients who have not been LASIK candidates in the past due to corneal thickness and shape. Further enhancing the individualized quality and precision of laser vision correction, VISX STAR S4's Iris Registration is the first FDA-approved technology that consistently targets a specific area of the eye. By compensating for the eye's rotation and maintaining alignment of the eye with the laser during treatment, Iris Registration tailors distinct corrections for each individual based on the unique characteristics of their vision in order to provide the best possible vision correction.

In addition to LASIK, Rand Eye Institute also provides the following laser vision correction techniques: LASEK, EpiLASIK, ICL, PRK (photorefractive keratectomy), PTK (phototherapeutic keratectomy) for various anterior corneal diseases and CK (conductive keratoplasty), which is a non-invasive surgery for treating presbyopia and hyperopia.
