More About Vision Correction at Cliniques Michel Pop
Dr. Pop uses wavefront technology to obtain a map or “fingerprint” of the patient’s refractive errors, including very subtle visual problems that cannot be detected with any other diagnostic system. Dr. Pop then uses this information to calibrate the surgical laser that reshapes the corneal tissue.
During LASIK eye surgery, Dr. Pop creates a corneal flap using either a surgical instrument called a microkeratome or a femtosecond laser (during all-laser LASIK). Both methods are safe and effective, and the method used depends on the particular patient and his or her needs. After folding back the corneal flap, Dr. Pop applies an excimer laser to the underlying corneal tissue to reshape it, thus correcting the eye’s refractive error. When he is satisfied with the newly shaped cornea, Dr. Pop restores the corneal flap to its original position, where it seals itself to the surface of the eye.
Montréal LASIK patients of Dr. Pop’s usually notice an improvement in their vision within 24 to 48 hours of the surgery. Many patients are able to achieve 20/20 vision or better. Dr. Pop’s clients give him a 99 percent satisfaction rating.
What Do Patients Say About Dr. Pop?
"My IntraLase Wavefront surgery by Dr. Pop was a success. Everyone in the clinic was warm, helpful, and knowledgeable. From the time I entered the operating room till I left the clinic, I was constantly updated on what was going to happen next; which made it a very reassuring and good experience. Thank you, Dr. Pop and all your staff."
"I had IntraLase in both eyes three months ago and it went great! The staff was great and very helpful, especially the blonde nurse in the operating room … I think her name was Sonia!! She explained every step to me as Dr. Pop was operating and even put her hand on my shoulders to reassure me during the surgery … I recommend Dr. Pop and his nurse any day!"
"Very professional. Surgery went well. Excellent follow-up process. Clear explanations every time."
