Jay L. Schwartz, D.O., is a highly skilled ophthalmologist surgeon who focuses on laser vision correction. He is board certified by the Board of American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and has performed more than 26,000 successful LASIK procedures. In addition to LASIK, Dr. Schwartz offers Epi-LASIK, PRK, and CK (improvement of near vision) and other highly advanced refractive surgery techniques. He also provides the newest technology with IOLs (intraocular lenses) including Verisyse, to correct those highly myopic patients who do not qualify for LASIK; and ReSTOR and ReZoom multifocal lens implants, to provide simultaneous correction for near and distance vision. He is also an expert in cataract and glaucoma surgical procedures, Botox Cosmetic procedures and general ophthalmological care. Dr. Schwartz received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
His residency and internship in ophthalmology were performed at the Midwestern University in Chicago, and he obtained fellowship training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery from Dr. Charles Casebeer at the Casebeer Foundation. He is a society member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, and American Osteopathic Association.
He is the co-author of The Exciting New Laser Eye Surgery, LASIK Vision Correction, January 2000. He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Brenda and their two children Madelyn and Maxwell.
