Dr. Marguerite McDonald of OCLI appeared in a WNBC Today in New York special about LASIK surgery. |
The ophthalmologists at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island are committed to providing superior eye care services for patients with a variety of eye conditions and vision correction needs. They treat patients with only the safest, most effective, FDA-approved technology available.
For LASIK, the surgeons at OCLI use advanced excimer laser technology to correct nearsighted, farsighted, and astigmatic patients. The excimer laser reshapes the cornea to enhance and correct vision, reducing a patient's dependency on glasses and contact lenses. For patients with presbyopia, or age-related vision changes, they offer Conductive Keratoplasty (CK), a safe, non-laser, FDA-approved technique for temporarily eliminating or eradicating farsightedness and presbyopia. CK can treat vision without cutting or removing tissue, reshaping the cornea to improve eye sight.
The doctors at OCLI also are trained in the latest advances in intraocular lens technology (IOL) and have experience with many different IOL implants including ReSTOR Lens, ReZOOM Lens, Crystalens, and Verisyes Lens. These lenses are offered to cataract patients and to those patients who do not qualify for LASIK surgery or who prefer new lens technology to correct their vision.
In addition to refractive procedures, the physicians at OCLI diagnose and treat glaucoma and a number of diseases and conditions related to the cornea and retina. Each physician has access to the best technology and medical therapies to treat patients with a variety of corneal disorders and diseases.
