Michael T. Furlong, MD, is nationally recognized refractive surgeon who specializes in bladeless LASIK, PRK, advanced cataract surgery and other vision correction procedures. Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Furlong has received numerous honors. He has been voted one of the top five LVCI refractive surgeons in the nation and has been named one of San Jose's "Top Doctors" every year since 2000. In 2010, his practice, Furlong Vision Correction, was voted Best Place for LASIK in the Silicon Valley in the Mercury News Readers' Choice Awards.
A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Furlong is highly experienced, having completed more than 25,000 eye surgeries to date. He was one of the nation's first surgeons to perform CK, an advanced procedure used to correct presbyopia, or age-related farsightedness.

Michael T. Furlong, MD, is a graduate of Stanford University. He obtained his medical degree, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class, from the University of Hawaii. Dr. Furlong completed his residency in ophthalmology at University of Utah Moran Eye Center, among the nation's top eye surgery programs. He went on to complete a corneal fellowship at the prestigious Gimbel Eye Center, studying under famed eye surgeon Howard Gimbel. Dr. Furlong has published many articles and book chapters on the subject of refractive surgery. He has presented his research at numerous ophthalmology meetings and has trained ophthalmologists at home and abroad on the latest techniques in the field of ophthalmology.
