Dr. Hersh has years of dedicated experience in the field and was lead author of the clinical study that led to first FDA approval of laser for the correction of nearsightedness in 1995. More About Dr. Hersh

Dr. Peter Hersh graduated from Princeton University, where he currently is a Visiting Research Collaborator. He received his MD degree from Johns Hopkins Medical School and completed both his residency in ophthalmology and subspecialty fellowship training in corneal surgery at Harvard Medical School. He currently is Clinical Professor and Director of Corneal and Refractive Surgery at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He has served as a principal investigator for numerous FDA clinical trials and has published more than 100 scientific research articles and four books, including Excimer Laser Surgery for Corneal Disorders and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Hersh focuses his professional interest on LASIK and other types of refractive surgery. His work has been featured on the Today Show, PBS, America Tonight, Fox Cable News, People Magazine, the New York Times, the Bergen Record, the Newark Star Ledger and other national media.
