At Dr. Nielsen's state-of-the-art facility, patients have the latest available blade-free LASIK with IntraLase technology. Following the creation of the corneal flap, Dr. Nielsen uses another laser to reshape the patient's cornea so that it can properly refract light rays. For this procedure, Dr. Nielsen uses the advanced Allegretto Wave excimer laser system. This technological breakthrough allows him to create a 3-D map of the eye detailing the irregularities that go undetected in traditional LASIK scans. Dr. Nielsen completed his residency at the Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California. He is the President of the Nielsen Eye Center, and he also serves as the Medical Director of the Laser Eye Center of Quincy. A respected leader in refractive surgery, Dr. Nielsen has trained many up-and-coming eye surgeons.
