Herbert J. Nevyas, MD, earned his undergraduate and Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, during which time he was honored with the Oliver Memorial Prize in Ophthalmology. Following medical school, Dr. Nevyas completed his ophthalmology postgraduate training at Thomas Jefferson University, the Institute of Ophthalmology of the University of London, and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nevyas later launched Nevyas Eye Associates in 1964. He founded the practice’s ambulatory surgical center, the Delaware Valley Laser Surgery Institute, in 1989. He is considered to be an innovator in the development of surgical equipment and cutting-edge treatments, holds a number of ophthalmic patents, and has invented two types of intraocular lens implants.
Dr. Nevyas is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, some of which include the American Academy of Ophthalmology (Fellow) and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (Founding Member). Following medical school, Dr. Nevyas-Wallace participated in a select internship program through the Graduate Hospital before completing her residency training at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania Department of Ophthalmology. She later completed a fellowship in anterior segment surgery concentrating on phacoemulsification, intraocular lens implantation and corneal surgery.
Dr. Nevyas-Wallace is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, some of which include the American Academy of Ophthalmology (Fellow), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. She has been involved in the teaching of refractive surgery since 1993 and has received awards for her work from the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in treating hyperopic astigmatism with LASIK.
Vipin K. Goyal, MD, is a magna cum laude graduate of Villanova University, where he was also elected to Alpha Epsilon Omega, the prestigious national pre-medical honor society. He later earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania before participating in a select internship program through Northwestern University, Evanston Hospital. He completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College, serving as Chief Resident, and completed a fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery at Shands Hospital, University of Florida.
