At La Jolla LASIK, our concern is you. Founded in 2002 by Dr. Angela Nahl, a Harvard-educated ophthalmologist, La Jolla LASIK is unlike any other eye care center in Southern California. This is because each San Diego LASIK and cataract surgerypatient receives personal attention from Dr. Nahl herself not a technician or a nurse, but the doctor herself. This is one of many reasons why San Diego patients seek the services of Dr. Nahl. Dr. Nahl addresses each patient's unique eye care needs, including existing medical concerns the patient may have. That's the La Jolla LASIK difference and it's one you'll see right away.
Everything that Dr. Nahl does is in the best interest of her patients. She constantly strives to deliver the best possible vision correction results in a safe and comfortable manner. Using her advanced training, her Harvard education and state-of-the-art eye surgery equipment, Dr. Nahl has the ability to treat a variety of vision impairments, including nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. She guarantees a successful outcome to every San Diego eye vision correction patient and has, in fact, performed thousands of eye surgery procedures that have changed the lives of many individuals by eliminating their dependence on traditional eyewear.
What Do Patients Say About Dr. Nahl?
"I can see better than with glasses. I love you. You are the best doctor that I have had of any kind!" Wendy W.
"Having LASIK with Dr. Nahl is the best decision I ever made." Ed D.
"The surgery lasted just a few minutes and when it was over I knew I had made the right decision. I decided to have the laser eye surgery because I was tired of having headaches 4-6 times per week. I was the type of person who didn't like to wear my glasses or contacts so I experienced eyestrain on a daily basis. To this day, I have not had a headache. Not only is my vision wonderful, but no more headaches. Thank you Dr. Nahl for your expertise in laser surgery." Christine V.

Because of their precision, Dr. Nahl prefers to perform all-laser procedures, including LASIK, Intralase, LASEK, PRK (Advanced Surface Ablation) and others. The most current laser systems are so advanced they are able to actually lock onto the eye's position and follow it throughout the course of the treatment. This results in the most precise measurements and the best results. In addition, when precision lasers are used, they often correct for visual impairments that eyeglasses cannot redress like shadows, glare, halos, and other blurriness.
The exact treatment and equipment used for your procedure will depend on the correction needed, your age, your health and other factors. When appropriate, treatments may also be performed using the Allegretto Laser, which provides better results for patients whose needs are outside the parameters for Custom VISX treatment.
