Cory M. Lessner, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who focuses exclusively on refractive surgery. He is a highly skilled refractive surgeon who has performed more than 30,000 vision correction procedures. Dr. Lessner is recognized by his peers for his ability to successfully treat and manage complex cases. His skill as a LASIK surgeon has gained him selection as the official surgeon for many of the South Florida professional sports teams, including the Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers, Miami Marlins, and has treated many of your favorite Miami Heat players like Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers. He has also corrected the vision of numerous entertainment and business leaders.
Dr. Lessner stays on the leading edge of technology for vision correction. He was the first surgeon in Florida to offer LASIK with the EX500 Wavelight Excimer Laser, and one of the first to offer the Wavelight FS200 Femtosecond Laser. Dr. Cory Lessner received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta and his medical degree from Hahnemann University, School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and a clinical fellowship in general ophthalmology at Tufts University New England Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Lessner is an active member in the major ophthalmology organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
