More About Vision Correction With Dr. Maurino
Dr. Maurino offers a wide choice of the latest technologies in laser eye surgery. By using the most advanced laser technologies, he provides customized vision correction treatment and precise visual results. His state-of-the-art practice is equipped with the IntraLase IFS 150 femtosecond laser for advanced corneal flap creation, the Schwind Amaris 750S excimer laser (one of the fastest on the market) and the VISX S4 excimer laser with wavefront-guided technology.
Before starting the LASIK procedure, Dr. Maurino uses wavefront technology to capture the eye's unique refractive errors, including extremely subtle errors called "higher-order aberrations." Using this diagnostic information, he calibrates the excimer laser used to re-shape the curvature of the cornea.
To start LASIK surgery, Dr. Maurino uses the IntraLase femtosecond laser to create a small flap in the cornea. After gently lifting back the corneal flap to reveal the underlying corneal tissue, Dr. Maurino uses the calibrated excimer laser to re-contour the curvature of the cornea. Doing so corrects the refractive error causing the patient's shortsightedness, farsightedness and / or astigmatism. Once he is satisfied with the newly shaped cornea, he carefully repositions the flap back in its original place, where it naturally re-bonds to the eye without the need for sutures.
Patients who have undergone LASIK surgery under the care of Dr. Maurino generally find that the procedure was not painful, and that it typically provides vision improvement within 24 to 48 hours after surgery. In most cases, Dr. Maurino's patients no longer have to depend on spectacles or contact lenses to see clearly, and more than 99 percent of LASIK patients achieve 20/20 vision or better following the procedure.
What Do Patients Say About Dr. Maurino?

"The best recommendation I can say is that I would let Dr. Maurino operate on my son if and when his eyes need doing. He is professional and very thorough. I would not use anyone else. Superb back up to the point he asks you to text him how your eyes are 24 hours after surgery." John Tarquin T.
"I felt nervous about having wavefront surgery on both eyes as a long term contact lenses wearer but I was in the very capable care of Mr. Maurino who put my mind at ease. He was highly recommended to me as one of the best in his profession. The procedure was quick and painless with a brilliant follow up of after care. I now have perfect vision which has transformed my life." Julia P.
