About Caster Eye Center
All laser treatments at Caster Eye Center are performed personally by Dr. Caster. Each patient is meticulously screened by Dr. Caster to determine
the best option for his or her particular situation. For Lasik surgery, Caster Eye Center offers the Allegretto, Alcon, and VISX lasers. Dr. Caster
uses the custom wavefront Lasik procedure, where the light-focusing power of each eye is individually measured and adjusted, in 200 separate locations. This unique "corneal map" is
then programmed into the laser so that a new corneal curvature can be created with the highest precision.
To ensure accuracy, the laser room at the Caster Eye Center is both temperature- and humidity-controlled. To create the "corneal flap," Dr.
Caster offers the IntraLase technique and the microkeratome. This combination of technology and meticulous control of the surgical environment
provides for the best possible Lasik outcomes.
Although the Caster Eye Center is on the cutting edge of new technology in laser vision correction, it is very personable and conservative in its
approach. A comprehensive screening process is used for all patients, and approximately one-third of the patients are advised not to undergo surgery
at all. Each patient is treated only if Dr. Caster believes the patient will obtain excellent results.
