Dr. Smith completed an internal medicine internship at the Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and an ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Institute, Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Smith continued her education with a fellowship in corneal surgery, anterior segment and external disease at the Wilmer Institute. She also completed a specialized LASIK fellowship and a VISX excimer laser fellowship under the renowned ophthalmology authorities, Dr. Jesus Vidaurri – Leal and Dr. James Rowsey, respectively.
