Three excimer laser platforms are available for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism: the VISX Star S4, Bausch and Lomb Zyoptix, and Alcon LADARVision. Sally Thompson, MD, earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. She completed residency training in internal medicine at Deaconess Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston and a residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious Moran Eye Center of the University of Utah. Dr. Thompson completed specialty fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the Hunkeler Eye Clinic in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Board of Internal Medicine, and National Board of Medical Examiners.
